The multifunctional laboratory module “Science” will be launched on July 21, 2021, said Dmitry Rogozin, CEO of Roscosmos.

– The removal of the Proton-M launch vehicle with the Nauka multifunctional laboratory module for the Russian segment of the ISS to the Baikonur launch complex is scheduled for July 17, launch – July 21, – Rogozin said in his Telegram channel.

The head of the state corporation noted that July 22 and 23 are envisaged as backup dates, and the Nauka module will be launched on the Proton-M rocket.

Initially, the launch was supposed to take place on July 15, 2021, and docking with the International Space Station on July 23, but on July 1, the Nauka module was returned from refueling to the assembly and test building in order to solve the previously found problem.

Earlier, the site KP.ru reported that an unknown space object was approaching the ISS. According to Dmitry Rogozin, the object will get as close as possible to the station on Thursday, July 8, 2021, today.
