Mobilization in Russia: Russian authorities surprised with plans for new contract soldiers of the Ministry of Defense

Over the next three years, the Russian Defense Ministry allegedly plans to limit itself to recruiting only 225 thousand contract soldiers.

According to the draft state budget of the aggressor state for 2025-2027, the Russian Defense Ministry plans to sign contracts for service in the Russian Army with approximately 225 thousand volunteers in three years.

This is written about by “Important Stories”.

As journalists have learned, the Russian authorities plan to allocate a total of 90 billion rubles over the next three years for one-time payments for signing a contract with the Ministry of Defense.

Since July 31 of this year, the amount of the one-time payment for Russian volunteers is 400 thousand rubles, and before that, persons who signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation were paid 195 thousand rubles.

“If the payment does not change, then the allocated funds will be enough to recruit 225 thousand new contract soldiers in three years. If they pay 195 thousand rubles for signing a contract, as was the case before, this will allow them to recruit 461.5 thousand people,” the authors of the publication note. .

However, such figures are surprising if we take into account the daily losses of manpower of the occupiers on the front in Ukraine and the statistics of recruited Russians for the previous 2.5 years of the war.

“Last year alone, 345 thousand people signed a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense. From the beginning of 2023 to mid-2024, the number of new contract soldiers reached 511 thousand people,” the publication cites figures.

The authors do not name the probable reasons for such plans, but note that it is quite possible that the amounts planned in the budget may change.
