Russian mixed style (MMA) fighter Adam Yandiev, who beat heavyweight Sergei Kharitonov, has been charged with causing minor bodily harm. TASS was told about this by a member of the Public Monitoring Commission (POC) Eva Merkacheva.
Merkacheva visited Yandiev in the temporary detention center of the Moscow police department on Petrovka.
“I visited Yandiev. As far as I understood from the conversation with him, he was charged with injuring Kharitonov and the second defendant in the case. Tomorrow the police will come out with a petition for his arrest, ”said the observer.
As confirmed to RIA Novosti in the capital's POC, Yandiev is in IVS-1. It is noted that the fighter has no cellmates, he does not complain about the conditions.
Earlier, Kharitonov named the amount of debt of the fighter who beat him, Adam Yandiev, nicknamed Beard. He said that Yandiev owes him more than two million rubles.
The fight between the fighters took place on November 13. The attacker struck Kharitonov several times with brass knuckles, after which the fighter was hospitalized. Yandiyev was detained for 48 hours and sent to a pre-trial detention center. Two criminal cases were initiated against him.
According to Kharitonov, the cause of the fight was money debt. Initially, he said that Yandiev had borrowed about a million rubles from him and refused to return it. At the same time, the bronze medalist of the Olympic Games in judo Dmitry Nosov denied Kharitonov's version that Yandiev owed him money.
