Missing American tank found in Britain

British historian Daniel Abbott and his associates discovered an LVT-2 (Water Buffalo) tank underground, reports the Daily Star.

It is noted that the researchers were looking for a combat vehicle for several months. In order to dig it out, it took the participation of 50 people.

The excavations were carried out for five days, their participants lifted the soil weighing 4.5 thousand tons. The tank was also raised to the surface, weighing 20 tons.

Tanks LVT-2 were produced in the United States in the 40s of the last century. The found amphibious tank disappeared during a flood in 1947.
