An institute of IT ombudsman will appear in Russia. This was stated by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin during a video message to the participants of the Kazan Digital Week-2021 forum, RIA Novosti reports.
“For the first time in our country there will be an institution of IT ombudsman. This will help create favorable conditions for doing business in this area, ”said the head of the Cabinet.
Mishustin also announced plans to launch a program to stimulate the participation of domestic “business in international open-source alliances.” According to the prime minister, the country should have its own platform in this area, an analogue of GitHub.
The Prime Minister stressed that the Russian authorities will continue to promote domestic work abroad and introduce engineering software for the modeling and design of industrial facilities. In addition, the government is going to “create conditions for attracting high-quality IT-sector specialists and the return to Russia of those who went to work abroad.”
Recall that the proposals to introduce the institution of the IT Ombudsman appeared in the spring of 2021. According to the Izvestia newspaper, then the innovation was advocated by the Association of Computer and Information Technology Enterprises, which includes the largest representatives of the industry. According to the organization, the number of lawsuits with IT companies has been growing lately, and entrepreneurs need protection from excessive harassment.
In early September, it became known that the establishment of the institute was included in the “road map” of the second package of measures to support the IT industry, which was approved by the government.
