MIR has prepared a cycle of virtual excursions for the 60th anniversary of manned space flight

On April 12, MIR will begin a cycle of unique educational virtual excursions to the places where the history of the space and aviation industry was made. An online tour on the official Youtube channel @ mir24tv is dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin's space flight.

The first stop on the “WORLD” journey is the “Cosmos” museum in Yaroslavl, the homeland of the world's first woman-cosmonaut Valentina Vladimirovna Tereshkova, the Yaroslavl “Seagull”. First, viewers will visit the “Star Hall” with a domed screen, where they will see a fragment of a film about the origins of astronomy.

“Now we are in the heart of our cultural and educational center named after Valentina Vladimirovna Tereshkova – in the planetarium, named after the apparatus of the same name, which was constructed almost a hundred years ago. With it, you can travel through time and space. Anyone who happens to be here can be transported into the past, ten thousand years, or into the future, also ten thousand years, and admire the starry sky, the beauty that once was or will be, “says the guide.

Yegor Sinitsyn, a methodologist at the Valentina Tereshkova Cultural and Educational Center, will tell you what Yuri Gagarin did in the legendary Vostok-1 rocket, what food he tasted from tubes, what he was convinced of by looking through the window and who actually paved his way into space. In addition, online visitors to the museum will be able to see part of the museum's photographic exposition and various models, including a life-size model of the first artificial Earth satellite.

Also “MIR” will welcome the guests of the international festival “Time to Space”, which will be held on April 10-12 at the VDNKh. The TV channel has prepared games and contests for all visitors to the “House of Culture” and “Smart City” pavilions, as well as a photo zone with an astronaut, space food, themed gifts and branded souvenirs.

The Time to Space Festival has been held since 2013 to popularize the achievements of Russian cosmonautics, as well as public perception of the Cosmonautics Day as a national holiday.
