New details of the attack have emerged.

On the night of August 9, the SBU, in cooperation with the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Special Operations Forces, carried out an explosive strike on the Russian military airfield “Lipetsk-2”. This is reported by sources ТСН.ua.

Details

After the strike by Ukrainian drones, a powerful explosion occurred, which caused a chain detonation and a large-scale fire over a significant part of the airfield. Local authorities confirmed the fact of the detonation and announced the evacuation of residents of nearby settlements.

Most of the aircraft stationed at the Lipetsk-2 military airfield did not have time to take off.

“The SBU, in cooperation with the Defense Forces, continues its methodical work to destroy Russian aviation logistics so that the enemy does not have the opportunity to bomb Ukrainian cities with KABs. In early August, we cleared the Morozovsk airfield of KABs and fighters, today it is Lipetsk-2's turn. We continue working”, – an informed source reported in SBU.

Recall that in the Russian city of Lipetsk on the night of August 9, an explosion occurred at a warehouse with ammunition at a local airfield. Local Governor Artamonov announced a “detonation of explosive objects”.
