Millions of Americans are faced with a shortage of drinking water due to freezing temperatures. This is reported by NBC News.
Texas officials said 8.8 million people, about a third of the region's population, need clean water. Texas Governor Greg Abbott said the military and National Guards were involved in the distribution of water in the affected region. So, the Americans have already received about 3.5 million bottles.
Earlier it was reported that due to the most severe frost in more than 30 years in Texas, there was a food crisis. Due to the closure of outlets, many shops and restaurants are forced to discard perishable and expired goods, while experiencing difficulties in supplying new food.
In February of this year, several states were immediately covered by abnormal weather: frost and strong winds. The snowstorm left more than three million Americans without electricity. The largest power outages occurred in Texas. Utilities said power outages were “a last resort to maintain the reliability of the electrical system as a whole.”
