On the Champs Elysees in Paris, after a break caused by the pandemic, they decided to hold a military parade in honor of Bastille Day. According to BFM TV, just before the start of the parade, one of the participants proposed to his girlfriend.
A soldier in the dress uniform of the Ecole Militaire des aspirants de Coëtquidan military school, white gloves and a black mask knelt in front of his chosen one, said something to her for a long time, and then put a ring on her finger. Then they kissed to the applause of his comrades. At least for this couple, Bastille Day was not wasted.
The parade, calculated for 1 hour 50 minutes, began at 10 o'clock Paris time (11:00 Moscow time). It was opened by the Patrouille de France aerobatics team, which, with the help of smoke generators, depicted the French tricolor in the sky. In the first part, there was a demonstration of aircraft, including Rafale fighters and AWACS airlines. Then foot formations and ground vehicles marched along the avenue.
Among the spectators were President Emmanuel Macron and his wife.
In 2020, the parade on July 14 was not held due to the coronavirus.
