Penalties for illegal exports to Russia and Belarus for Taiwanese companies have increased 15 times.
Taiwan has imposed sanctions against the Russian I Machine company, which imported high-tech equipment for weapons manufacturing enterprises in the Russian Federation.
This was reported by the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of China (Taiwan).
Taiwanese companies are now prohibited from supplying their goods to this company.
In addition, manufacturers in Taiwan must clearly declare the end consumer if the goods go through countries that have not joined the sanctions against the Russian Federation, for example through Turkey, the UAE, China, etc.
Penalties for illegal exports to Russia and Belarus for Taiwanese companies have increased 15 times and now amount to about $32 thousand.
The Taiwanese government introduced these measures to protect the international reputation of Taiwanese manufacturers and prevent the use of its high-tech products for the development of weapons in Russia.
In total, there are 1900 entities on the Taiwan sanctions list that are in one way or another connected with Russia.
Earlier in an investigation, The Washington Post reported that the Russian company I Machine Technology imported equipment from Taiwan worth $20 million. This company's largest client last year was the Moscow Avangard Machine-Building Plant, a supplier of missiles for the S-400 air defense systems.
Recall that in a joint investigation by The Insider and the Taiwanese publication The Reporter, it was stated that metalworking machines used in the military industry continue to be supplied from Taiwan to Russia.
