Monday, May 27 , Vladimir Zelensky arrived in Madrid on a visit and held talks with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez.

The head of state announced the results of the visit on the page in the telegram channel.

As a result of the meeting, Ukraine signed a bilateral Agreement o cooperation in the field of security.

“Humanitarian assistance, economic reconstruction and construction, support for Ukrainian reforms on the path to membership in the EU and NATO and our Peace Formula, strengthening sanctions against Russia – all these areas of cooperation are set out in our agreement,” the president revealed Ukraine.

Also this year, Spain will provide Ukraine with 1 billion euros military aid and 5 billion over three years.

“Today we spoke with Mr. Prime Minister, in particular, about the further strengthening of our air defense and how Spain can help this. I informed about the situation at the front, about Russian efforts to expand the war This week, our warriors are defending themselves against another Russian offensive, and that is why now we especially need to step up our work with partners for greater security and tangible coercion of Russia – by all means. Thank you to Spain for the tangible and truly life-saving support of Ukraine during this time of war,” he emphasized.

Recall that on May 27, 2024, Ukraine and Spain signed an important security agreement.
