This is how the German media comment on this photo, taken now in the Swabian Alb region in Baden-Württemberg. Biological scientist at the University of Tübingen, Alexandra Kehl, believes that the autumn flowering of individual trees is caused by recent hail, after which warm weather, after which the apple trees, so to speak, were mistaken for the onset of spring. At the same time, we are not talking about the mass flowering of trees, but this phenomenon itself has not been ignored. Therefore, as the expert notes, farmers and apple lovers from the Swabian Alb should not worry about this next year's harvest. In other cases, flowering fruit trees at unusual times can also be a reaction to all sorts of stressful situations – extreme heat, drought, or too radical pruning of branches to rejuvenate the trees.
