The corporation decided to inflate prices to match those set in Central and Eastern Europe. In particular, Office 2019 for one user can rise in price from 515 rubles per month to almost 600 rubles. In France, the same software costs entrepreneurs 579 euros (51,000 rubles) to install on one computer.
“After several years of stability for our partners and customers, we are adjusting the price list to match the prices of software and online services for commercial customers in the region of Central and Eastern Europe, where they are fixed in US dollars,” Microsoft said. …
As the company clarified, the changes will not affect orders placed under current corporate agreements. New prices for software and cloud services in rubles can be viewed from September 1, 2021.
Earlier it became known that the number of employees of the Russian division of Microsoft may decrease in the near future by 15%. The layoffs in the company began seven years ago, and during this time the number of employees has more than halved. The layoffs were related to the optimization of the business structure and the import substitution policy. Microsoft, however, says there are no large-scale cuts.
