Good news: Microsoft today said it won't block the installation of Windows 11 on most older computers. Even users of officially incompatible devices will be able to update manually.
That is, installation restrictions will only work if the user tries to upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11 through Update. This means that PCs with older processors that fail the test can be manually updated.
In June, Microsoft announced the minimum hardware requirements for Windows 11. It turns out that only Intel 8th Gen processors and above are officially supported. Now the company claims that people can upgrade at their own risk to PCs with the wrong processors.
