Microsoft has acknowledged a critical bug with the latest Windows update. This was reported on the company's website.
Representatives of the corporation said that they are aware of the problems faced by users of the operating system. Microsoft said the March cumulative update could cause serious issues for some devices connected to certain printers.
It is clarified that a problem with office equipment and the emergence of a “blue screen of death” (Blue Screen of Death, BSoD) can occur on almost all current versions of Windows 10. In particular, a failed update could harm computers running on versions 20H2, 2004, 1809 and 1803. The engineers noted that in most cases the APC_INDEX_MISMATCH error occurs, which interferes with the communication between the computer and the printer.
The company did not say what exactly the problem of the cumulative update is. However, there are suggestions that the problems could be caused by the incompatibility of the system update and office equipment drivers. Microsoft representatives promised that the problem will be resolved soon.
The fact that the current Windows update may cause the appearance of the “blue screen of death”, the journalists told in early March. According to complaints on the Microsoft forums and on social media, the problems appeared after the release of the March update KB5000802. Affected users are advised to remove the problematic update.
