Mi-8 EMERCOM of Russia evacuated the crew of the Grigory Lovtsov vessel, which sent a distress signal in the Sea of Okhotsk. This was reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the ministry.
The sailors were taken aboard the Mi-8 on a rope.
The crew was taken to the city of Nikolaevsk-on-Amur, the condition of the team members is satisfactory, no one needed the help of doctors. As noted in the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the rescue was complicated by the wind, dark time of day and fragile ice.
Earlier on January 4, it was reported that in the area of the Shantar Islands in the Sea of Okhotsk, the Russian cargo ship Grigory Lovtsov sent a distress signal due to the threat of ice damage to the hull.
