Mexico and Australia will not restrict the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine

The authorities of Mexico and Australia have decided not to restrict the use of the vaccine against the new coronavirus by AstraZeneca, Interfax reports.

It is reported that the Federal Commission for the Protection of Sanitary Risks of Mexico (COFEPRIS) said it does not plan to introduce age or other restrictions on the use of the drug yet.

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison said the country's authorities have made a similar decision. They also ordered an urgent investigation of the results of vaccination. At the moment, they continue to consider the vaccine safe and effective in most cases.

Earlier, AstraZeneca renamed its coronavirus vaccine Vaxzevria amid reports of dangerous complications in people who received the drug.

At the same time, the developers declare the safety of this vaccine, arguing that the health data of 17 million people vaccinated with this drug did not show an increased risk of pulmonary embolism or deep vein thrombosis.
