Messi punished for a gesture in memory of Maradona

Barcelona striker Lionel Messi was punished for a gesture in memory of former Argentine football player Diego Maradona. Diario Sport reported.

The Competition Committee of the Royal Spanish Football Federation fined Messi 600 euros for violating Article 91 of the Disciplinary Code, and the Catalans – 350 euros. The club plans to appeal the punishment.
