Merkel was “attacked” by a parrot while visiting a bird park
German Chancellor Angela Merkel was pecked by a parrot while visiting a bird park. The incident took place during Merkel's tour of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
According to Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschland and judging by the photos published on the Internet, a whole flock of variegated lorises fluttered around the politician.
While the head of the German Cabinet of Ministers was feeding them, one of the parrots pecked at her hand. At the same time, other birds sat on the Chancellor's shoulder and head.
After that, Angela Merkel refused to come close to a large European owl, saying that “she coped well with the parrots.”
Let us remind you that Merkel does not apply for a new term as German Chancellor. Elections to the Bundestag will be held on September 26, after which a new cabinet will be formed with a new chancellor at its head.
Earlier, Angela Merkel told where she is going to live in retirement. She said that she and her husband will live in two houses – in her apartment in Berlin and in a country house in the Uckermark region.
