Former German chancellor Angela Merkel spoke about the situation in Ukraine, calling Russia's special military operation in the Donbass a watershed event in history after the end of the Cold War. Her words are quoted by Tagesspiegel.
“This marks a far-reaching turning point in post-Cold War European history,” Merkel said. She condemned the Russian special operation “in the strongest terms”, adding that she stands in solidarity with the Ukrainian people and the government led by President Volodymyr Zelensky.
