For the first time, the men are kicking the women: In the Lower Austria derby, it's against Amstetten for St. Pölten's coaching team, then for first place.
Goodbye: Isabelle Meyer (St. Pölten) against the Austrian Anna Petrusova
Many ideas have been presented by the SKN in recent years. Very few have gone down in the club's history as a success. Accordingly, things have not only gone downhill in terms of sport in St. Pölten, but also in terms of audience approval and image values.
However, we wish the latest idea unreserved success: For the first time in the history of the Bundesliga, a mixed double will be played. First, the SKN men compete in the Lower Austrian Derby against Amstetten in the 2nd league (6.10 p.m.). Immediately afterwards, the SKN women warm up for their top game against Austria (8.30 p.m.). Both games will be broadcast live on ORF Sport +.
Flop and top
While the men made a false start with the most expensive squad in the 2nd division and are in 15th place with only four points from eight games, the SKN women have been in their own class in Austria since 2015. But the audience participation remains modest – especially in the league with around 100 visitors.
New fan layers
Seen in this way, the women's team makes double sense as the main act: Since only one ticket has to be paid for both games (with two different stadium speakers), many fans will watch a women's game in the NV Arena for the first time. The SKN fan club “Wolf Brigade” has announced that it will stay in the stadium to (also) create a mood against the violets.
“I hope that at least 1,000 fans will be watching us,” said women chairman Willi Schmaus.
Free entry for vaccination
Those who get vaccinated against Covid-19 in the Lower Austrian vaccination bus in front of the stadium (from 4.30 p.m.) even get a free ticket. The game is kicked off at 4 p.m.: The SKN's Special Needs Team will play against the one from Amstetten in the Lower Austrian Sports Center.
The organization for the premiere is in place: The two men's teams and the SKN women are moving in their usual rooms in the stadium. A free cabin was also found for the Austria women. Only the two referee teams have to move closer together.
Coaching team under pressure
It is also getting tight for the SKN coaching team: So far, cooperation partner Wolfsburg has spoken out for patience with Stephan Helm and Emanuel Pogatetz.

But if club legend Jochen Fallmann also wins on his return to St. Pölten, new ideas from the broad circle of “strategic partners” (currently 18 are officially listed) will be requested from the SKN.
Once again.
