“Dialogue with the US has been resumed”: Meloni shared encouraging news about Ukraine.
The United States has revised its decision to supply weapons to Ukraine.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Maloney spoke about this, La Repubblica reports.
“It is not true that the United States has stopped supplying weapons and support to Ukraine, they have reconsidered their decision to supply specific components, in particular anti-aircraft weapons. Of course, this is a current fact, but it is very different from the complete removal of America, which was talked about,” George Meloni notes.
She said that she discussed with Donald Trump the issue of supplying American weapons to Ukraine.
“I myself spoke to President Donald Trump today (Friday – Ed.) and discussed this issue. I hope for a positive development on this issue,” Maloney said.
Maloney also said that the West cannot wait for Putin's goodwill, so it needs to extend support for Ukraine and strengthen sanctions against Russia.
Let us recall that the US has suspended the supply of missiles and ammunition to Ukraine. What this means for Ukraine is discussed in the article by TSN.ua.
However, according to Reuters, after a conversation with President Zelensky, Trump has promised to review the halted deliveries of Patriot and other key air defense systems.
