Russian figure skater Evgenia Medvedeva, on the air of Channel One, commented on the return to coach Eteri Tutberidze.
“We are doing well with Eteri Georgievna: we met, talked, started work today,” Medvedeva said. She also thanked her former mentor Brian Orser for the work done and the understanding shown. According to the athlete, they parted without conflict and maintained a warm relationship.
Earlier, on September 16, it became known about the decision of 20-year-old Medvedeva to return to the Tutberidze group. Details of a possible transition are still unknown. Prior to that, the Russian figure skater trained in Canada under the leadership of Orser.
Medvedeva moved from Tutberidze to Orser in the summer of 2018, after losing to compatriot Alina Zagitova in the individual tournament of the Olympics in Pyeongchang. In addition to the silver medal of the 2018 Games, under the leadership of Tutberidze, Medvedeva won two World Championships, European Championships and the Grand Prix final. With Orser, she won the bronze medal of the 2019 world championship.
