~6 0~p>In February 2024, the Kiev District Administrative Court refused to restore his lawyer's license.

State traitor and godfather of Putin Viktor Medvedchuk appealed a court decision refusing to allow him to resume his practice as a lawyer. The ex-deputy of the banned OPZZH did not agree with the decision of the Kyiv District Administrative Court, which refused to renew his lawyer's certificate.

This was reported in the public initiative “Igla”.

Medvedchuk appealed the decision, the public initiative “Igla” reported on Thursday, March 14, with reference to the text of the court ruling.

“On March 12, the Sixth Administrative Court of Appeal, by its ruling, opened appeal proceedings on Medvedchuk’s complaint. The panel of judges includes: Lyubov Kostyuk, Natalya Buzhak, Mikhail Kobal,” says Igla.

Viktor Medvedchuk, exchanged to Russia for Ukrainian military personnel, is trying to restore his status as a lawyer, deputy and citizen of Ukraine in court.

According to lawyer and serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andrei Kostin, the National Bar Association still has a monopoly of Viktor Medvedchuk’s associates, which can help him regain his lawyer status. Andrei Kostin reported that this monopoly is headed by Lidia Izovitova, who created the system of her permanent power in the NAA and the Council of Lawyers.

Andrei Kostin reported that the legislation on the legal profession has not changed since 2012 and was created with the assistance of former President Viktor Yanukovych and Andrei Portnov.

“It is this law that has allowed Medvedchuk's associates to hold all lawyers hostage since 2012. And given that our bar provides personnel to the prosecutor's office and courts, we are jeopardizing judicial reform,” the lawyer said .

Recall that pro-Russian politician Viktor Medvedchuk was detained in April 2022 in Ukraine during an attempt to escape outside the state.

Medvedchuk was in custody on suspicion of treason and promoting terrorism.

In September 2022, Medvedchuk was exchanged for 200 Ukrainian prisoners of war held by Russia.
