Protesters surrounded the delegation's car, damaged the roof, tore off the left mirror and chased the car until the group left the territory.

Ambassador Germany's Steffen Seibert was attacked by Palestinian students during his visit to Bir Zeit University in Ramallah (West Bank).

Srugim and BILD write about this.

The meeting was supposed to take place on the territory of Bir Zeit University near Ramallah in the West Bank. A video was published online showing the European delegation running away from the crowd. Insults in Arabic can be heard in the footage.

Protesters surrounded the diplomats' car, damaged the roof, tore off the left mirror and chased the car until the group left the area. Thus, the Palestinians protested against Germany's support for Israel.

Srugim writes that the diplomat running away from the crowd in the video is the German Ambassador to Israel Steffen Seibert.

“During his visit this morning, the ambassador felt violence and terror… Terrorists tore off the top of his car, cursed, kicked and threw stones at him,” the publication noted.

However, according to BILD, the diplomat said that he was not present at the meeting. According to the publication, a representative of Italy was filmed on video. The meeting was canceled due to security concerns and the delegation traveled to Jerusalem.

Recall that Israel is preparing to evacuate the residents of the city of Rafah in anticipation of a possible military operation in the south of Gaza.
