Media: Estonian scientists have created a drug for coronavirus based on cow's milk

Scientists from the Institute of Technology of the University of Tartu have created an anti-coronavirus drug from bovine colostrum and have applied for clinical trials, local newspaper Maaleht writes.

Experts have developed a technology to remove antibodies from the colostrum of a cow, which was previously injected with the spike protein of the coronavirus. A distinctive feature of the drug is that it is made in the form of a nasal spray.

The new BioBlock drug was tested by 16 people, four hours after its administration, antibodies to coronavirus were preserved. Scientists have already applied to conduct clinical trials of the drug.

The creators of the drug hope that their invention will help control the spread of coronavirus in crowded places. At the moment, experts say that the remedy is not able to replace the vaccine and only provides temporary protection.

Earlier it became known that chlorinated water in pools can kill the coronavirus on the surface in 30 seconds.
