Companies making the new Apple Watch for Apple are having difficulty making the devices, Bloomberg and Nikkei reported, citing sources. According to two publications, the problems identified during the manufacture of the first batches are associated with the new design of the watch.
“All assemblers face similar challenges in achieving satisfactory performance based on current industrial designs,” said one Nikkei source.
Apple is expected to introduce a new watch model known as the Apple Watch Series 7 in the coming weeks, Bloomberg reported. It notes that since the company has yet to announce a release date for the updated model, it may reschedule it or bring fewer products to market than expected.
Bloomberg previously reported that new Apple Watch models will receive a flat screen and edges, as well as a larger screen size than current models. According to the agency, the company plans to release watches in 41 and 45 mm versions. Bloomberg also reported that Apple is working on features that will allow iPhone emergency services to be called via satellite.
