On Saturday, February 5, the 2022 Winter Olympics started in Beijing. On the first day, competitions were held in 11 sports, in which six sets of awards were awarded.
These are biathlon, ski acrobatics, short track, speed skating, cross-country skiing and ski jumping.

The leader at the end of the first day wasNorway, which got two gold medals, and a total of five countries received gold medals.
The awards were given to the Norwegian biathlon team in the mixed relay, as well as skier Teresa Haug, who won the skiathlon.
The second place went toSlovenia: she has one gold medal and one bronze, both for women’s ski jumping.
The rest of the prize-winning countries shared the third place among themselves, thanks to which there were no fourth and fifth places in the medal standings – further recalculation comes from the sixth place.
Thus, the third position was takenNetherlands, Sweden andChina – each with one gold medal.
According to the results of the first day, Ukraine did not receive an award.
It should be noted that 7 more sets of awards are to be played on February 6.
Recall that the Olympic Games in Beijing began on February 4 and will last until February 20.
45 athletes from Ukraine participate in these Games in 12 disciplines – a record number of sports at the Winter Olympics for our country.
In general, 109 sets of awards from 15 sports will be played during the 2022 Olympics.
This year, Saudi Arabia and Haiti will participate in the Games for the first time.
