McGregor, 32, thanked fans for their support. The Irishman admitted that he wants a third fight with Poirier. “Dustin is a great opponent and I'm looking forward to a new fight,” he wrote.
Earlier on January 24, McGregor lost to Poirier in the main event of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) tournament. The Irishman lost by knockout for the first time in his career.
McGregor and Poirier first met in the Octagon in 2014. Then the American lost in the first round by knockout.
McGregor is a former UFC champion in two weight classes. He has 22 wins and five defeats.
