Mayor of Zhytomyr Sergei Sukhomlin addressed the Belarusians and told why their military should not go to war in Ukraine.
Sukhomlin said this live on the Belsat TV channel.
The mayor of Zhytomyr noted that this “not yours and not our war is Putin”'s war”.
Sergey Sukhomlin recalled that two years ago a Ukrainian-Belarusian forum was held in Zhytomyr, after which the city purchased MAZ communal buses and trolleybuses.
– But, dear Belarusians, if you come here with war, then your buses will take you back. The only thing is that they were maimed or killed,” the mayor said.
He hopes that Belarusians are a conscious nation. And also added in Belarusian: Don't be afraid to know and tell the truth.
Mar 8 reported that as a result of an air strike by enemy troops in the town of Malin, Zhytomyr region, a street was destroyed – that's seven houses. The Russian military killed five civilians, including two one-year-old babies.
