The Japanese Foreign Ministry suggests the termination of commercial flights between the two countries.
In connection with the growing tension on the Russian-Ukrainian border, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan announced the maximum (fourth) level of threat to stay on the territory of Ukraine. This means a call to leave the country immediately.
This was reported on Friday, February 11, by the Kyodo agency, citing the Japanese Foreign Ministry.
The Japanese Foreign Ministry believes that the further development of the situation around Ukraine remains “unpredictable, despite diplomatic efforts.”
According to the classification of the Japanese Foreign Ministry, the fourth level of danger declared for Ukraine contains a call to “immediately leave the territory” of the state and refuse any trips to this country.
The Japanese Foreign Ministry explains its decision by “growth of tension on the Ukrainian-Russian border.”
The ministry also noted that “in the future, the termination of commercial flights” between Japan and Ukraine “depending on the development of the situation” is not ruled out.
“Many countries have also already advised their citizens to leave the territory of Ukraine, this may lead to the fact that it will become extremely difficult to leave the country by commercial airlines due to a lack of tickets,” the Japanese Foreign Ministry added.
Earlier, a crisis headquarters was created under the office of Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, which will collect and analyze information about the situation around Ukraine.
Recall that because of the likely threat of Russian aggression, US President Joe Biden called on Americans to immediately leave Ukraine. He added that the US military would not be sent to the zone of the alleged conflict.
