Federation Council Chairwoman Valentina Matvienko said that Russia will develop Runet in order to protect itself from global IT disasters.
– We have developed and will continue to continue (develop) our own IT platforms, messengers, our own Runet in order to protect our citizens, to protect the state from the consequences of such possible accidents. Naturally, no one will force in Russia to switch to Russian networks, – said the politician.
At the same time, Russia needs to create a competitive product so that Russians have a choice, Matvienko noted.
