An earthquake of magnitude 6.9 occurred on Saturday, March 4, in the area of the Kermadec Islands near New Zealand.
It is reported by Reuters.
Tremors were recorded at a depth of 152 km.
The European Mediterranean Seismological Center previously estimated the magnitude of the shocks at 6.6 points, and the depth at 183 km. A tsunami warning was not issued after the earthquake.
On the eve it was reported about tremors in Ukraine. The earthquake occurred in Transcarpathia, near the village of Velyka Dobron. In Crimea, an earthquake with a magnitude of up to 3 points was recorded between Yalta and Alushta.
