The investigation continues

Three people have been detained to clarify the circumstances of the incident at the Polonez swimming pool in Warsaw. This was reported by the Warsaw police, writes “Polish Radio”.

On the evening of July 26, chlorine poisoning occurred in a swimming pool. 60 people were evacuated, 21 of whom were taken to hospital for examination. Some of them have already returned home. There are also children among the victims.

The police are not disclosing details of the investigation. Jacek Wisniewski from the capital's police confirmed that three people were detained.

“This is a pool worker. All the materials collected on this case will be delivered to the prosecutor's office for further analysis. They will be handling the case. As of the morning of July 27, four children were still in the hospital undergoing examination,” he said.

The swimming pool is managed by the Sports and Recreation Centre of the Warsaw district of Targówek. The director of the establishment, Jacek Pazuk, is aware of the incident. In an interview with Polish Radio RDC, he noted that there are two versions: either the chlorination system failed, or one of the workers made a mistake.

The results of preliminary water tests showed that the chlorine content standards were significantly exceeded. The pool will be closed in the near future.

Recall that in the Lviv region 10 children were poisoned by an unknown substance after a hockey match.
