Leader of the “National Movement” accuses the ruling party of the attack.
During the parliamentary elections in Georgia, a mass brawl took place near the central office of the opposition National Movement, located on the Kakheti Highway in Tbilisi.
Frames of the incident were distributed by Georgian media.
It is reported that a group of aggressive people broke into the courtyard of the party office building and first got into an argument, and then used physical force against members of the opposition party.
The head of the National Movement, Tina Bokuchava, accuses the current government and the ruling party, Georgian Dream, of the attack, which allegedly senses defeat in the elections.
“This is being done by a government that is losing the elections and is extremely scared. The government understands that they will soon be gone. The opposition is winning convincingly in these elections and it is very important not to lose a single vote,” Ekho Kavkaza quotes the opposition leader as saying.
The results of the Georgian parliamentary elections from several foreign polling stations are now known. Opposition parties received the majority of votes.
We recall that parliamentary elections are being held in Georgia on October 26, which have acquired special significance against the backdrop of increasing domestic political challenges and uncertainty about the country’s future. The elections are seen as a referendum that will determine Georgia's future course.
