Ukraine is working with the United States of America in three directions in providing military assistance.
Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States Oksana Markarova announced this in an interview.
According to her, the first area of cooperation is military aid, which is allocated to Ukraine by the US Congress and is being laid in the defense budget of this country. Next year, Ukraine is to receive $ 300 million (the day before the budget was signed by American leader Joe Biden).
The second direction is assistance that the US President can appoint by his decree. For example, in September of this year, Joe Biden agreed on a $ 60 million package of such assistance, and our state received weapons and ammunition (including Javelin missile systems).
– And third – the so-called redundant defense equipment. For example, ready-made and unnecessary weapons that the United States can additionally provide. And we are also actively working with this category now, & # 8212; emphasized Markarova.
According to her, one of the priorities is the creation of defense capabilities in the Azov and Black Seas. And on this issue, Ukraine is also cooperating with the United States.
In particular, this year Washington transferred four Island-class patrol boats. And in 2022, the transfer of Mark VI combat boats to Ukraine is expected.
