In addition to blocking the potential deployment of French troops in Ukraine, the far-right leader is seeking to revoke permission for long-range missile strikes on Russian territory.
The leader of the French far-right National Rally party, Marine Le Pen, promised that the prime minister from her party will not allow Kyiv to use long-range weapons provided by France for attacks inside Russia and will prevent the implementation of French President Emmanuel Macron's idea to send troops to Ukraine.
The French “friend of Putin,” as the politician is called, who was noted for her pro-Russian statements and tried unsuccessfully to win the presidential election three times, said this in an interview with CNN.
“If Emmanuel Macron wants to send troops to Ukraine, and the Prime Minister is against it, then troops are not sent to Ukraine. The prime minister has the final say,” she stressed. that Kiev's permission to use long-range missiles supplied by France on Russian territory will also be revoked.
Macron was one of the first Western leaders to publicly allow Ukraine to strike targets inside Russia with Western weapons, setting the stage for Washington to do the same. This allowed Kyiv to bombard Russian military bases, formations and artillery that were being used to attack Ukraine.
Polls indicate that the National Rally will win the largest share of the 577 seats in the National Assembly in the second round of parliamentary elections on Sunday, July 7. Although far-right populists potentially fall short of reaching an absolute majority, Macron will likely offer them the chance to choose the country's next prime minister.
Recall that mass protests broke out in France after… it is known that, according to exit polls, the far-right National Rally party, led by Marine Le Pen, is winning the elections.
