Marilyn Monroe's cookbooks to be auctioned

by alex

The cookbooks used by Marilyn Monroe will go under the hammer, TMZ reports. According to experts, their total cost could reach 120 thousand dollars.

According to reporters, the famous actress had two favorite recipe books: The New Fanny Farmer Boston Cooking-School Cook Book and The New Joy of Cooking. Both were published in the early fifties and have survived well.

But the main feature of the lot is a few handwritten recipes by the actress herself, a shopping list and a completely painted diet with several dish options.

According to this diet, Monroe drank orange juice, toast and cereal with milk for breakfast. The actress's lunch consisted of carbohydrates, and the dinner consisted of chicken liver, veal or beef.

The auction will take place on June 22 at Siegel Auction Galleries. For each of the books they plan to raise from 50 to 75 thousand dollars.
