Russian tennis player Maria Sharapova entered the top 10 most mentioned athletes on Twitter for the current year. In the ranking, Sharapova took the seventh line. The corresponding top was shared on Twitter by the Women's Tennis Association.
The first place in the list was taken by the Japanese tennis player Naomi Osaka, the second – by her American colleague Serena Williams. The third place was taken by the American football player Megan Rapino. American bodybuilder Alexis Kaufman closed the top ten most popular athletes.
