A court in Sacramento (USA, California) sentenced a 74-year-old former police officer to life imprisonment after pleading guilty to 13 murders and dozens of rapes. Reported by CNN.
Joseph James de Angelo was arrested in 2018 after a decades-long search. According to local authorities, between 1976 and 1986, he committed at least 13 murders and more than 50 rapes. Initially, the investigation believed that they were committed by different criminals, but soon came to the conclusion that it was one person.
The maniac had many nicknames, including “killer from the golden state”, “real night hunter”, “rapist from the east.” It was possible to establish his identity using a DNA examination. De Angelo has been denied parole from prison. “I am sincerely sorry for everyone I have offended,” he said before sentencing.
Earlier, on August 20, it became known that an Orsk maniac appeared in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, on whose account the murders and rapes of a hundred women. He committed crimes from 2006 to 2013.
