Maxwell Chimedza, 27, from Zimbabwe, used WhatsApp and a simple smartphone to found the best online academy in his country. So, out of 64 students of his recent “stream” 41 people passed the exams, having received the highest score. Such a success rate, by comparison, is available only to elite educational institutions in Zimbabwe.
It is interesting, however, that the man who launched the educational project on WhatsApp does not have a specialized teacher education. But there is a simple smartphone and a desire to teach.
