At the time of the attack, several police officers were nearby, so they were able to quickly arrive at the scene.

An 11-year-old girl and a 34-year-old woman were stabbed in Leicester Square, London. The man who committed the attack was arrested and taken into custody.

This was reported by BBC News.

An employee of a nearby store said that he heard a scream and rushed at the attacker, taking his knife.

“Honestly, it's terrible. I've never seen anything like this before. To do this to a child is terrible,” he said.

Paramedics who arrived at the scene provided first aid to the victims and took them to a trauma center. The girl needs to be hospitalized, but her injuries are not life-threatening. The woman's injuries are less serious. The police do not yet have any suggestions about the possible terrorist motivation for the attack.

Leicester Square is located in the center of London's bustling Soho district, which is famous for its large number of cinemas, shops, bars and entertainment venues. It is a popular place for tourists.

The attack occurred during protests that turned into riots across the UK. The protests began after an armed attack on a dance class in Southport.

Recall that in Southport, near Liverpool, an attack took place on a children's dance club. As a result, two girls died on the spot, and another died in hospital. Five children are in critical condition. Two adults who tried to protect the children were also seriously injured. A 17-year-old suspect was detained. Police are not treating the attack as a terrorist attack and believe the assailant acted independently.
