Mali's Junta Announces Severance of Diplomatic Relations with Ukraine Following Wagner Defeat

Ukraine is accused of supporting Tuareg officials.

The transitional government of the Republic of Mali announced the termination of diplomatic relations with Ukraine, reproaching Kyiv for supporting the Tuareg rebels who recently defeated column of the Russian terrorist group PMC “Wagner”.

The corresponding communique of the Malian junta was published by the press service of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Decentralization.

The document of the Malian junta repeats the Kremlin's propaganda narratives about the “Nazi regime” in Ukraine.

The Malian junta stated that the representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense Andrei Yusov allegedly admitted the role of Ukraine in the defeat of Russian terrorists in a battle with the Tuaregs on July 25-27.

In Bamako, they believe that in this way Ukraine is interfering in the affairs of Mali.

The document states that “after a thorough study of the situation, the transitional government of the Republic of Mali emphasizes that the actions of the Ukrainian authorities are a violation of the sovereignty of Mali, already go beyond the scope of foreign intervention, are condemned in themselves and are clear aggression.”

Therefore, the junta decided to “immediately sever diplomatic relations between the Republic of Mali and Ukraine” and instruct the “competent judicial authorities” to study the comments of Yusov and Pivovarov.

Recall that it was previously reported that Senegal summoned the Ukrainian ambassador “to the carpet” over a message with alleged support for the Tuaregs in Mali.

In addition, we previously reported that it became known exactly how many “Wagnerites” were destroyed by the rebels in Mali.
