A1 Xplore TV customers are currently unable to use many functions. Normal television is also down.
At A1 there are currently problems with the television offer throughout Austria. According to A1, all customers are likely to be affected by A1 Xplore TV.
Almost all functions are affected by the failure, including normal television. When asked by futurezone, an A1 spokesman said that live television was working again for some customers. But they want to publish an update on the social networks only if you can ensure that all A1 Xplore TV customers can watch TV again.
Additional functions of Xplore TV, such as time-shifted television and “View Control”, are currently still disrupted. A solution to the problem is being worked on.
The cause of the problem is currently unknown. There is no connection with the DDoS attack in mid-February. Such an attack, which overloads the systems, can currently be ruled out as a failure reason for A1 Xplore TV.
Update: bug fixed
According to A1, the problem was found and fixed shortly after 5 p.m. A software error caused the failure. Customers who still have problems should pull the power cable of the Xplore TV box, wait a few seconds and plug it in again. After restarting the box, everything should work again.
