Problems in the Mail.ru service, including slowdown of mail and sending push notifications with test messages, occurred due to a technical error. RBC was informed about this in the press service of Mail.ru.
“Due to a technical error, the distribution of test push notifications affected users. For this reason, the work of Mail.ru Mail has slowed down, – they indicated there, noting that at the moment the service is being restored, and user data is safe. “The work has now been restored,” the press service of the company said later.
Users in social networks began to complain about the failure of Mail.ru mail earlier on September 30. Fontanka drew attention to this. For example, a Twitter user with the nickname dozensnake attached a screenshot to his post showing that he received a message in his mail with the title “test100k”. The same screenshots were sent to the company account by other users of the service. A user with the nickname FreylisShan wrote in the morning of September 30 that he could not go to the mail and recover the password.
According to the Downdetector website, users began reporting malfunctions to Mail.ru from 9:00 Moscow time on September 30. The peak of complaints – 2740 messages – fell at 9:28 am Moscow time.
