The leader of the Action and Solidarity party, Maia Sandu, accepts congratulations on her victory in the presidential elections in Moldova. By this hour, the republic's Central Election Commission has processed almost all the ballots – more than 99%, and the remaining protocols will no longer be able to influence the outcome of the voting.
More than half of the country's citizens who came to the polling stations on November 15 voted for Maia Sandu. According to the CEC, she is gaining 57.09% of the vote – she was supported by over 917 thousand people, and the current Moldovan leader Igor Dodon was supported by 42.91% of voters (689.3 thousand).
“Congratulations to Ms. Maia Sandu on a decisive victory on behalf of all who dream of a European Moldova, justice and a better life at home,” Andrei Nastase, head of the Dignity and Truth Platform party, wrote on his Facebook page.
The leader of the Pro-Moldova parliamentary group, the former speaker of the parliament, Andrian Candu, also congratulated the newly elected president. He noted that “the Republic of Moldova has taken an important step to reset the state,” TASS reports.
