TASS, July 17. An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.7 was recorded on Saturday off the coast of the South Sandwich Islands, located in the South Atlantic Ocean. This was reported by the US Geological Survey.

According to her, the epicenter of the tremors was 2,692 km west of the Argentine city of Rio Gallegos, whose population is more than 85.7 thousand people. The source of the element lay at a depth of 96 km.
