Seismologists have recorded an earthquake of magnitude 5.7 near the Loyote Islands group, located in the Pacific Ocean of New Caledonia – an overseas territory of France.
It is reported by the US Geological Survey.
Tremors occurred at 10:06 UTC (13:06 Moscow time). The source of the earthquake lay at a depth of 10 km.
On February 11, an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.4 was recorded off the coast of New Caledonia.
