Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro thanked the developers of the Russian vaccine against coronavirus Sputnik V. This was reported on the Twitter account of the leader of the Bolivarian Republic.
“Thank you!” He said in Russian after receiving the first dose of the drug himself. At the same time, he joked that he began to pronounce some Spanish words in the Russian manner, but does not know why, RIA Novosti reports.
Maduro was vaccinated with the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine on Saturday, March 6. Prior to that, he called the Russian coronavirus vaccine the safest in the world, since the drug shows a high level of body protection.
Vaccination with the Russian vaccine in Venezuela began on 18 February. The first to receive the drug were doctors and people at risk.
At the moment, there are several vaccines against coronavirus infection in the world. Two drugs are registered in Russia: Sputnik V and EpiVacCorona. In Moscow, the Sputnik V vaccination started on 5 December.
