French President Emmanuel Macron will have a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. This was reported in the Elysee Palace, reports RIA Novosti with reference to AFP.
It is specified that Macron will talk with Putin by phone on Saturday, February 12. Shortly before that, US President Joe Biden also wanted to have a telephone conversation with Vladimir Putin, his national security adviser Jake Sullivan said.
On February 7, the leaders of Russia and France held face-to-face talks in the Kremlin, which lasted more than five hours. As a result, Putin said that the meeting with Macron was held in a businesslike manner, was meaningful and useful. The head of state specified that he had discussed with the French president the issues of non-expansion of NATO and the situation around Ukraine. The French Foreign Ministry considered that the meeting of the presidents made it possible to return the countries to dialogue.
